Learn outside: explore experiential, place-based learning at CETL

Friday, August 25 or Saturday, September 9

9AM to 3PM

Join us for a day of investigations and explorations strolling our woodland trails and wading into our shoreline tide pools. Let the beauty around you spark ideas for lessons or long term study. You will then be able to work with our environmental educators to develop an engaging, immersive curriculum plans. The ultimate goal is that teachers around the Cobscook Bay community will see CETL as an extension of their classrooms and will feel comfortable bringing their students here often.

You will leave the workshop with new tools and skills to engage students in place-based learning, and an enhanced understanding of the importance of the next generation viewing themselves as conservators of this incredible ecosystem we call Cobscook Bay. Lesson plans will be shared on our website.

Bring rain boots for tidepooling.

Lunch will be provided.

A stipend of $150 will be paid to teachers upon completion of the course.
