Land preservation

CETL is located on the shores of Cobscook Bay, in the township of Edmunds, Maine and is adjacent to the 24,400 acre Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge. Cobscook Bay is a boreal estuary renowned for its large tidal fluctuations, unique marine biodiversity and relatively undisturbed shorelines. An important part of the mission of CETL is to preserve and steward this land for generations to come.

In 2022, we entered into an agreement with Maine Coast Heritage Trust to protect these lands. By creating this conservation easement, CETL was able to secure the land from development and ensure that our mission of conservation and stewardship will be carried out in perpetuity.
